Time To Move Along
(Ed Du Bois)
Lyrics and Music by Ed Du Bois, September 25, 2005, Copyright 2006
I originally started this song after hurricane Wilma hit Florida and Bimini on October 25,2005. My houseboat in Bimini was sunk and the place a mess. I came back defeated and felt that my Bimini dream was not to be. I’ve worked hard on that project and I always thought that I could pull it off, but now I’m not too sure. It might be “Time To Move Along”. As I put the song together though I realized that it was purely a tragedy only for me and my kids and not a very sympathetic cause. We all wanted to see it happen but really no one else cared. So I changed the song to a mid life crisis/depression song. When I finished the song I really liked, it made me cry. I was attached to the song emotionally because of my mid life crisis hit when I was about forty and lasted about four years. I know that hopeless, helpless feeling expressed in “Don’t know the answers, don’t know why” and “Time to move along”. You just want to cut and run! Glad I didn’t.
